Some Funny Videos
Of course, I should know better by now than to call a blog post ‘Some Funny Videos’ unless I am absolutely certain that the videos are actually funny.
I performed stand-up comedy long enough to know that what I think/thought is/was funny doesn’t mean it is funny. But if my stand-up years taught me anything, it is not to care what anyone else thinks. It sounds counterproductive, I know, as a comic will want to make people laugh and by listening can possibly understand what works and what doesn’t work. This is true to a point, mainly when a comic is starting out, but once that comic is knee-deep in, he or she just has to trust their instincts.
Am I Getting To A Point Here?
That’s a good question, and I completely forgot that I had one. I’ve not been blogging much for the past couple of weeks, but I have been very busy with setting up an E-commerce business that no doubt will be rubbing shoulders with Amazon soon. But in amongst my plan to become Jeff Bezos but with less of a Bond villain vibe (more on that in a later blog post) I’ve been doing a lot of ‘comedy’ again. I’ve continued to do my podcast, and I am also now doing short, silly videos which I post pretty much four times a week on all the other social media sites (sorry WordPress).
That is until now.
So, I’m posting some of the videos I’ve uploaded on other sites as a way to get more views, keep this blog ticking over, and of course in the hope that my ego will be slightly rubbed in my vain effort to feel alive and relevant.
But the reason I mentioned about this possibly not being funny is that…well, I think it may be very British humour. But I don’t know. Is this surreal, silly stuff a British thing? Or does it translate to other places? Not that it matters…I’m not expecting a phone call from Lorn Michaels, it’s just a passing thought.
Getting Close To A Point Here!
Anyway, here’s some stuff to watch. As you will notice, I spent the entire budget on special effects to make my chin look massively fat. I think you’ll agree, those special effects boys did a great job!
Well, there you have it.
The main thing I learned doing comedy was to enjoy yourself. I do just that when I pretend to be this stupid character. I’d forgotten how much happiness I got from being Henri so I think you should all strap in as there will be more…
Thanks for watching/enduring š
If you happen to be on YouTube you can join a whopping 23 other people (I haven’t use YouTube much…it’s not a reflection on the quality of videos…) and subscribe to my channel – https://www.youtube.com/feed/my_videos
Sound advice. Are you sure you’re not a medical doctor? You should be.
I am currently in training (sorry for the late reply to this!!)
Wow. That was a whole lot of Henry. And now Iām stuck with a mental image of Joseph Stalin singing Dancing Queen in the shower.. so thanks for nothing.
I hope the image has finally gone… (and sorry for my late reply to this!!)
