I’m Back…I’m Sorry…Anyone Here?

Yes I haven’t written anything on here for a while but it’s not because I don’t love you! It’s because I was in the UK for 6 weeks and I was sick for about 3 of them – yes, my good old immune system really stood the test of going back to my cold homeland.

But I am back in sunny Thailand and guess what?

It’s boiling hot and I am really making a go of sweating again…

Me in a lift looking hot!

No I didn’t have a shower with my clothes on and no my hair isn’t normaly plastered down like a 1920’s Chicago gangster – you’ll be shocked to know that my slightly wet look is down to the heat here and my inability to aclimatize to it – but give me a break today it was 36 degrees which with the humidity apparantly felt like 44…44 degrees! By far the hottest weather I’ve experienced. In fact it is so hot a saw a Thai person almost sweat!

But anyway, enough about me…how are you? Sorry for not keeping up with your posts but I am happy to be back here…

Anyway, back to me (well, it is a personal blog after all), pardon…what was that you said? What have I been doing in the UK for 6 weeks…well, it kind of turned out that I didn’t do very much to be honest (I’m a little bit pissed off with myself for that but more on that in a later post), but I was sick with some virus for about 3 of those weeks and like all men I suufered incredible hardships but I remained brave and hardly moaned…

There now follows a quick recap of my time in the UK…

Hung out with a dude who is already way cooler than me…

Went to a wedding with my mum…

Took a selfie with the bride and rather attractively managed to make my chin look even fatter than it is and get the side of my mouth that has a tooth missing…

Went to one of my Nan’s favourite spots and where some of her ashes were scattered…

And read an entire book all by myself (one without pictures in it!)

It was a pretty good read and I knew some of the places he wrote about which made it more interesting to me. Reading it certainly got me in the right frame of mind to start writing more and attempting to write my own book about life here. I know I fool around on here and mention how much sweating I do on a weekly basis but I am going to try and write an actual book – one that’s good! I’m not expecting to win the Booker Prize but a nomination would be most welcome.

I’ve been treating my time here a little bit too much like a stupidly long holiday and I’ve got lazy and too relaxed – of course their is nothing wrong with being relaxed but if I’m not jumpy about a few things in life I don’t seem to function as I’m used to. I need a kick up the arse and to regain some focus…

…what was I saying? Oh yeah, focus…and work harder…or something.

Anyway, I’ll go into this more as I restart on my time here but until then, I just wanted you to know, I’m ok…you can relax now and call off the search…Oh, and stop wearing the black armband, I did have a bad virus while I was away but it wasn’t that bad (not quite)

P.S. It’s been a while since I’ve written anything on here and I can’t find the spell check button…wtf? Where is it? Help!

P.P.S. sorry for any spelling misztaykes

    There you are!
I was tempted to send out a search party…. but since I had no utter clue where you were, they probably would have gotten lost as well.
Sorry to hear you were sick on holiday. For future reference? That’s not the way you’re supposed to do it.
Do you suppose the lack of sweating sent your body into shock?
Now that you’re back, I’ll expect prompt comments on the 467 blogs I’ve posted since you’ve been gone. Chop! Chop!
And yes, the spell check button has disappeared. I thought you might have taken it with you.. but apparently not.
    Welcome back.

    1. Thank you for still talking to me! 467 blogs sounds like rather a lot to catch up on but I’ll give it a go…so what the flip has happened to the spell check on here? Now everyone will see how unintelligent I really am. Glad you are still here, I’ve missed your blogs…I hope you have some more about rocks or chickens!

      1. Rivergirl says:

Well, 467 might be overstating … but there are a few chicken blogs. I’m afraid the rocks were geographical. We’re not apt to revisit that topic anytime soon.

  2. Oh. My. God. It was LITERALLY this morning when I said to the husband that I was starting to get worried about you. I knew you were in England for 6 weeks but it felt like longer than that. I actually got on WordPress to check the date of your last post. (Not a stalker. Just a caring blog buddy.) I said, OK, I’ll give him a week or two more, but then I’m going to message him and see if he’s alright. And then within a few hours you appeared on my reader! What’s that they say about speaking of the devil?
And like Rivergirl, I too expect you to read (and like, and comment on) all my fascinating blog posts. You’ve missed so much in my life! I’ll bet you feel there’s a small hole in your life going this long without reading my posts. Yeah, I thought so.
I will say that the bloggosphere is just a little less fun without your sweaty posts. In fact, several weeks ago I started putting liveandletthai-style metaphors in emails I was sending to the husband from work. They were pretty dang funny, I thought, but he begged – literally BEGGED me to stop. So, in the interest of marital harmony, I did. You can now pick up the mantle.
So anyway, whatever this write-a-book, do-some-work nonsense is, your first priority is to read our posts. Now get to it!

    1. I must have sensed your concern and shot into action to calm your worries! Thank you for caring and no, I don’t think you’re a stalker (although I’ve never had one…maybe it would be good!?) This was actually all a ruse to see who would still be following after a long break away…and you’ve passed πŸ™‚ The happiest moment of my day though was reading that you used metaphors in emails to your husband – it’s a really proud moment for me and I’m just sorry that your husband doesnt appreciate the art and thought that goes into them. Looking forward to reading your past posts (no promises on how many i’ll get to read…I will have to go outside a bit now and again) and lovely to hear from you again

        This is not acceptable.
You must read all her posts, and all mine.
It’s not our fault you disappeared you know….

Yay you’re finally back! Wales looked amazing by the way! Looks like you’re back to square one with the weather acclimation tho πŸ™‚
Luckily for you I didn’t write too much for you to catch up while you were away πŸ˜‰
So what’s the book gonna be about???

    1. Yes, and I am so happy to be back – it does feel like normal to be here now. Yep, the weather acclimitization (that looks like it’s spelt wrong but fuck it) has gone as well as expected ffs! (I did comment on a post of yours recently…did you see it? It was on the one where you used one of my pics (I was very flattered)
As for the book…which one? I’ve got 3 in mind and just finishing one which is a graphic novel (a good friend is doing the graphic part) But I really think I’m going to start one about living in Bangkok in general (obviously with a large dose of humour) and add into that novel the act of writing another novel…does that make sense?

      1. DoMoreBeMore says:

Lol more sweaty posts to come πŸ˜‰πŸ€£
I did see your comment! And replied 😍
So you’re going to write a book about writing a book in Bangkok? Should be interesting!! When do we get to see the graphic novel??

      2. Ha, maybe I’ll add the bit about writing a book in my book but just writing that sentence sounds a little confusing so I may just keep it simple. As for the graphic novel….I’ve no idea. I’m working on the synopsis now and then we start hawking it around and see what happens…so…maybe a long wait πŸ™‚
